Sweet Naliah. The third child sure doesn’t come home from the hospital in the same way that the first child does. There is already a Barbie house waiting, piles of dress up clothes in the trunk, books sprawled over the bed and countless dresses of varying sizes in the closet. This family is very ready for another girl. It won’t be long before her sisters and playing house with her, of course this time Naliah will be the baby. There’s really no need for the dolls now that this little cuties has entered the house. What a wonderful experience to spend the morning with this family! Their newest little treasure sure is adored by all.
The mosquitos may have been crazy bad but this soon to be mama of three was as beautiful as ever. With less than two weeks to go until the due date, everyone was eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new baby in the family. Can’t wait for those baby snuggles in a few weeks!
Spending an evening with a couple in love, in a beautiful place in magical light…well you can’t go wrong. I met up with Olga and Sergei while they were in Penticton on vacation. As great as selfies are, they just don’t replace lovely portraits captured by someone else. Hiring a photographer while on vacation is such a great idea! It is always such an honour to spend time with people while they’re on holidays. It’s fun to share local places and create memories that likely otherwise wouldn’t have happened.
Thank you for spending an evening with me! I hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as I did.
This was take two for this beautiful family. We met up two days prior just as it started to pour rain, thunder and lightning. Thankfully we could all reschedule to make extended family photos a reality. I love the idea of having photos taken while on vacation, such a great way to capture some special moments and remember a family holiday. After all, most of us have enough standard souvenirs anyways, I can’t think of a better souvenir than photos of the people you love most in the place you’re on vacation. I hope you love them Monica and Steve! Your little one is a darling!
I am so excited to share these images of Michelle and her sweet children. I connected with Michelle shortly after we moved to Oliver due to our shared passion in photography and the fact that our kids were in the same class at school. Michelle’s an amazing local photographer that specializes in newborn photography(www.littlelashesstudios.com/). Super thankful for our shared passion in photography and the friendship that we have.
When I asked Michelle what kind of location she wanted for the photo session she said somewhere with nature but ultimately wanted me to decide where… ahh! Anyways, I decided to go with a beyond beautiful little place that reminds me of adventure and new beginnings. I wanted this session to be special, fun and memorable. We wandered, we explored and stood in awe of the beauty of this place.
Michelle, you are on a new adventure. You are parenting in a new way… I know it isn’t easy but you can do this. Being a mom is tough. There are frustrations and hard times, lots of hard times. However, there is beauty and joy. The way that your son looks into your eyes, the way that your daughter sucks her thumb and nuzzles into you. Watching your son reach for his little sister’s hand to help her along. Your children find safety and comfort in your arms. I saw it the evening I photographed you and I see it again as I look at these photos. Oh Michelle, the beauty abounds. You have family and you have love.
