The morning started out a little rainy and windy, but it wasn’t long before the clouds parted and we got some lovely light for these sweet family photos. These photos are everything that fall family photos should be. The leaves were a perfect spectrum of fall shades and the light shining through the tress was perfect. Adorable little Harvey and his loving parents made this photo session fun and super enjoyable!
This is it, these are my last family photo mini session dates for 2016. Please email me at email@example.com or use the CONTACT form on my site to book a session.
Mini sessions are different than regular sessions in that they take place all at one location (not much moving around), tend to be a bit more posed, you receive less photos but the cost is reduced.
The rules are simple. Just leave your home the way it is (I’m not a guest that you should clean up for), wear clothes that you would normally wear at home. Only do your hair if it’s what you do on a daily basis. Have fun with your family and be yourself. This should be the easiest, least stressful (and probably the most enjoyable) photo session ever.
We are close friends with this family (my kids were playing downstairs). We have seen each other through many highs and lows in life. The good, the bad, the ugly and the uncertain. Having a second child was a tough decision for this family. You can imagine their surprise when they found out that they were actually going to have identical twin boys. Yes, life usually looks different than we think it will. We don’t think about how hard things will be, how stretched we’ll feel and the exhaustion we’ll experience. But we also can’t imagine how full of gratitude our hearts can be. We can’t imagine the gift that we can find in our family and the joy that they can fill us with. Sometimes we’re too tired to really see it, to truly feel it. The baby years can be rough, especially when they’re x2. But life is beautiful (at least the way I see it from behind my camera), the mess, the dirty feet, the snotty noses, the tired eyes. Yep, all of it. It’s the real deal.
So glad we could make it work and get these moments captured. Crazy how the boys are almost one! You’re doing this whole mom of three thing.
Life just seemed right together. When they found each other this was just the way it was. Family is whatever we make it, Ashley and Kelly seem to be figuring this out beautifully. I was honoured to be able to capture their wedding day. Congratulations Ashley and Kelly! Your day was perfect!

Oh how I love spending a morning with a family and their sweet new baby. Little Taylor was just a couple weeks old and couldn’t seem to keep her eyes open for anything, she was adorable and so sleepy. This session was a little extra special since Taylor’s mom was Sarah’s teacher. Everyone that knows her will agree that she is a whole lot of sweet and lovely herself. Watching her with her own children was no different, she is doing this parenting thing beautifully. Taylor’s big sister was adoring to her new baby and in typical toddler fashion, seeming to figure out her new place in her family. It doesn’t seem like that long ago that it was me with a young toddler and a baby and now that young toddler is in third grade. Time is such an odd thing. The moments can seem so long and yet it has a way of going by in the blink of an eye.
Sweet Taylor, you were an absolute joy to photograph!
